Give your silicone a second life
When your Seed & Sprout silicone products reach the end of their usable life, we don’t want them heading to landfill. Our Silicone Take‑Back Program makes it easy to return eligible items to us so they can be responsibly recycled through our recycling partner.
This program reflects our commitment to taking responsibility for the full lifecycle of our products — including recycling materials where traditional systems fall short.
We currently accept Seed & Sprout–branded silicone products only.
Why? Silicone formulations vary widely between brands, and we can only responsibly recycle products where we can verify the material composition.
Accepted examples include:
- Silicone food storage and freezer products
- Baking and cooking silicone items
- Silicone accessories supplied by Seed & Sprout
If you’re unsure whether your item qualifies, our Customer Care team is happy to help.
How the program works
Two ways to get started: Use the contact form on this page, or email us directly at hello@seedandsprout.com. We’ve kept this process intentionally simple and free for customers.
Step 1: Get in touch
Start your return by submitting the form on this page, or email our Customer Care team at hello@seedandsprout.com to let us know you’d like to return a silicone product through the Take‑Back Program.
Step 2: We confirm the details
Our team will:
- Confirm your product is eligible.
- Collect the details needed to create a prepaid return label.
Step 3: Send it back (on us)
We’ll email you a prepaid return label – return postage is fully covered by Seed & Sprout.
Simply pack up the item and send it back using the label provided.
Step 4: Recycling + thank you
Once your item is received and logged at our warehouse:
- We send it to our recycling partner for processing
- You’ll receive a 10% thank‑you discount code as our way of saying thanks for keeping materials out of landfill.
Returned silicone is processed via specialised recycling infrastructure. The material is cleaned, sorted, and repurposed into durable recycled blends used in products such as:
- Gym and playground flooring
- Carpet underlay
- Other long‑life, hard‑wearing applications
Silicone is a complex material and recycling options are still evolving. While it can’t be recycled through household kerbside systems, take‑back programs like this ensure it stays in use for as long as possible rather than becoming waste.
Silicone is a high‑performance material, but like all materials, it doesn’t last forever.
Over time — and with repeated exposure to heat, oils, and daily use — silicone can degrade. When that happens, it can’t be recycled through household kerbside systems.
This program exists so that:
- We take responsibility for the products we put into the world
- End‑of‑life silicone is kept out of landfill where possible
- Materials are recovered and repurposed through specialist recycling streams
This is part of our broader approach to responsible product stewardship — being honest about material limitations and doing the work beyond the point of purchase.
Email hello@seedandsprout.com and our friendly Customer Care team will guide you through the next steps.
Thank you for being part of a more thoughtful, circular approach to everyday products.
